Area Rug Cleaning and Repair in Clarksville, MD

The look of this rug is greatly affected by the condition of its fringes.   The kilim is deteriorated so much that the fringes end have reached the pile.  If the ends are not secured, the pile wool will come off and the rug will start falling apart. 

We secured the edges by hand sewing stitches and cut the worn fringes evenly.  

Next we added pre-made fringes to restore the original look of the rug.  The final product is shown in the picture . 

This set of Karastan is between 30 to 40 years old and the condition of fringes is visibly determining  the look of the rugs.  We washed the rugs and repaired them by serging the edges as the client preferred no fringe fix for the wear.    

We secured the edges and serged the edges with matching materials to keep the rug from falling apart and restore some of the original look.

In addition to cleaning, this tufted rug needed repair as the fabric backing was falling apart which would have resulted in further deterioration of the rug. 

We secured the edges by adding a new binding tape on the edges which will give the rug few more years to live.

We cleaned this beautiful 80+ years old Sarouk.  Added new fringes, re-did the binding which was falling apart to restore the rug and bring back the original beauty to this precious family rug. 

Since the edges were worn beyond the binding line, we had to do the binding thicker than the original binding, covering more area to hide the wear and prevent further deterioration of the rug.

We cleaned this machine made rug. The rug had some missing pile at the edge and very much visible structural deterioration.  We were asked to repair it to protect it from falling apart. 

We secured the rug first and made a base for it to be able to fill up the deteriorated area as the backing was also damaged.  Then we weaved the missing area with a matching yarn to create an imitation of the pile. 

We finished the repair by doing the binding to give it a natural look and also protect the newly added pile from falling apart. This added a new life and new look  to the rug and .  You can be next on that list!

Since the kilim area was gone, the pile was damaged and it was deteriorating,  we removed the damaged pile and wefts to make it even along the sides. Then we secured the pile and wefts by adding overcast stiches to make sure no pile or wefts are falling out of the structure.
